Hope I am on the right forum for a humble Hare.
Have been trying to get a few decent shots of these animals which can be difficult and are getting to be a bit rare in my part of Lincolnshire(UK) but I do like the challenge.
Thanks for looking ,C&C much appreciated.

Hi Keith, a warm welcome to the Wildlife Forum and don't ever get put off by the more 'exotic' animals that get posted on here, it great to have diversity, big or small.

Firstly, Exif data, if you have it email it to e and I will add it in to your intro .

I like the low POV as it portrays how hares conceal themselves in their environment, just sitting, munching and waiting. Looks like good DOF as there is enough detail in the FG, but you have a nice diffused BKG, but the subject is sharp. What also is good is that you have the head clear of any distracting grasses. I might just run a small amount of NR to the image, but avoiding the hare. Keith I'm away and using the laptop, but I think the green might look a little vibrant and if I'm right, easily corrected in dropping the Green in Saturation. Great to see you breaking away from the off square format, but I do feel you could crop a little tighter, some off the bottom & LHS, but not much, all personal tastes.

Just went out this afternoon to see what the hares were doing, sadly the shooters are out, it's gun season so all have hunkered down, or are in the pot.

Look forward to seeing more in the coming weeks.

    cheers
    Steve

Beautiful details on this hare and I love the pose with the eye wide open and the ears laid back. I really like that total surround of rich green as it has no visual distractions and really sets off the lovely browns of the hare.

    Hi Keith

    Lovely capture!

Agree with Steve on NR in BG.

    Would crop bit tighter underneath.

    Love the low angle...

    Andre.

Hi Keith, good low shooting angle, and I like that the hare's head is above the grass line - we have a great view of the eye. Comp wise, I would take a bit off the bottom. Another vote for reducing noise on the BG, as well as desaturating the greens.

Thanks a lot for your interesting comments, Steve I will have to get myself some software to deal with that noise, sorry about the shooters with your Hares .Nancy we must be thinking the same way I did leave a lot of green around the Hare which I like ,I took this shot after rain in good light which maybe make the greens look a bit strong but saturation point taken.
    Thanks Keith.

Very good hare shot. I love them, fantastic animals.
I like the soft light and the color of the vegetation. I also like the placement of the hare in the frame and the low angle.
Him eating something is a nice bonus.

Hi Keith - another warm welcome to the Wildlife Forum. Very nice first post with good detail and sharpness. I agree with the above suggestions for a little bit of NR on the bg and also to reduce the brightness/saturation of the greens a bit. Looking forward to seeing more of your images.

    TFS,
    Rachel

Many good suggestions above which I echo. I think the hare itself could benefit from a little sharpening, particularly around the eye. Don't think it's motion blur (at 1/1600s) so perhaps just a bit of softness which could be fixed.

No need to apologise for any species posted here, ever, Keith! Welcome here.
I like the soft light, the lovely eye and the low angle you achieved. Not knowing how these hares really look to the human eye, it does feel like there's too much red and magenta coming through in the coat...?

Thanks a lot appreciate your comments,Morkel I take your point but I do think the colour of the fur is about right but there again the old eyes are not what the use to be
