    Hi Mervyn,they really are strange looking birds, I really like your full on capture.
    Maybe if the bg was a bit darker the bird would stand out even more, just a thought.

    A lovely close-up Merv, is she on a nest? I'm pretty sure Frogmouts are from the Nightjar family rather than Owl.

    What a handsome fellow this is. Good work with the angle. I might have been tempted to try a bit of dodging (on our right side) and burning (our left) to mitigate the lighting. Or the S/H tool?

    Hi mate
    Frogmouths are nightjars, not owls. Unfortunately many Aussies think they are owls because they are a nocturnal species. However, forgmouths lack a key characteristic that owls have, which is killing talons.
