During my recent trip to New Brunswick (Freeman Patterson/Andre Gallant workshop) we had an opportunity to photograph low tide on the Bay of Fundy. This is a scene of the meadow where we parked our cars. I used an Orton effect on this one - the lighting was gray and foggy so I think the Orton brightened it up a bit but left the impression of the foggy day.

Cheryl, A beautiful image!! This has a wonderful soft glow adding a richness to the colors of the grasses. I love the golden "fringe" of the horizon grasses and the fine details & lines of the foreground grasses and how they capture the light. The trees are a great addition to the horizon, especially how they drift off into the fog. Maybe a little less sky? Very well seen and captured!

Again, the movement of texture from sharp grass to foggy sky. Well done. I agree that maybe just a bit less sky might be worth checking. Beautiful

Very lovely Cheryl, a simple scene becomes quite beautiful. I like the idea of a little less sky and making it in to a more pano crop. Love the muted colours and the path leading you into the picture.

I agree -- a very lovely ethereal effect. I also think I'd like a version with less sky.

Thanks, Hazel, Nancy and Diane. I know what you're saying about the crop but when I got out of the car to go down to the beach I saw this little rise with the grasses and this big sky above so I left it in

Lovely image Cheryl, and the Orton effect is perfect. The grasses are rendered beautifully with rich colors.
