    Something different.

Found him lying on a rock trying to get as much sun as he could as it has been cold and raining past few days.

    Hi Carl,

nice to see a lizard. First what jumped into my eyes was the rock on the LHS of it's foot. The edge going down! I would take off the sharpness of and even would smoothen it, if it need to!
As well turning down a bit brightness in the body of the lizard. details are great, as well the comp.

    Have a great day

    Ciao

Hi Carl, I agree with Anette, the detail looks really good, likewise the techs. Now I'm away again, so having to rely on the laptop which is never great, but it looks a little light and thin, but this could be the MB pro screen. If however I'm right, I would add some mid tone & a luminosity adjustment set a various %'s which I feel just bolsters the depth. This may look too dark perhaps, if so you can just reduce the % even more. I quite like the comp with the subject bleeding off the bottom RHC and looking into frame, having the rock on the incline strengthens the comp I feel.

    Hope this helps.

    cheers

Yes, something new indeed. The details on the lizard is excellent. Steve's RP darkened the BG, which I think allows the viewers to focus more on the lizard. The comp works for me. Loi

Carl - I think this is one of the best you've posted so far. Excellent detail, pose and the comp works very well. Good choice on the dof. Steve has done his usual magic and taken an already excellent image up a notch.

    Hi Carl

Love this image, the bit of old skin under his throat makes me think that he has just shed. IQ is outstanding, love the crop and comp.
    Kaluski magic has been applied.
See you are winning the manual exposure battle, well done!
    Regards

This is great - vivid colours and great details. Blend the margin between rock and bg perhaps and then it's spot on.

This is a sharp as they come, Carl!
Steve's repost really took it up a notch in terms of tonal depth and structure. Soft light (overcast I presume?) was your friend here.
I might consider a portrait crop on this one?

Great to see you posting so many species, Carl! Always a pleasure to look at your images, be it avian or wildlife shots

This is so sharp, superb detail and colours, you have captured a lovely pose here-all that is left for me to say is "Congratulations"!

...I agree, Steve's post does take it up a notch, more detail on the rocks that matter and his magic mid-tone and luminosity adjustments I don't seem to ever get 100% right

    Warmest regards,
    Gabriela Plesea
