In my opinion this image is really beautiful as is. I love the light and the setting...

Welcome here Gerhard (in the wildlife section, that is).
I love the dust/light and the mood it's created. I do wish we could see more of the warthog (specifically the head), and it looks like the subject could do with a hint more sharpening and contrast as presented. If you have the file size/resolution, I would crop tighter to eliminate the dark twig on the LHS (or clone it out if that's in line with your processing ethics).

Looking forward to more of your photos, and please do drop some of your thoughts on the images posted by others - that way we all learn and foster a sense of community

Hi Gerhard - lovely light and the dust certainly adds to it. Morkel has given you some great suggestions for taking this image up a notch. I too wish the warthog was angled toward you rather than away but sometimes there's nothing we can do in these situations.

    TFS,
    Rachel

Nice color and back lighting here. I would like to see the warthogs head better, turned towards the camera a bit!

I think you've got some good suggestions here. Your settings were good, and it's a technique that you could repeat with other animals so perhaps wait until you've got a co-operative subject (that's looking at you!) and go from there.
