I had fun with the colors in processing.

This is beautiful Anita. I like the triangle of the fern tips, and the colours are wonderful!

Very interesting colors and shapes, and I like the treatment. I'm a sucker for ferns. I'm curious how you got the effect, if it's not a military secret! Or did it all come from the lens?

Thank you both Jackie and Diane.
Diane: Nothing in my photos come directly from the lens, but the lens I use makes a difference. And, I'm always happy to share my processing.
Most of the colors come from saturating the existing colors. I used the Hue/Saturation adjustment layer, and the Saturation Sponge (for selective saturation). I used Tonal Contrast in Color Efex Pro to bring out more detail, and Viveza to lighten a few areas. I finished by running Topaz DeNoise. The interesting shapes and out-of-focus elements were created by the very shallow dof (f1.8) and my f1.8 50mm lens.
I'm attaching a screen shot of my layers showing the original image.

this is very nicely done I adore the colors.

Would love it even more if the main in focus fern was a bit more diagonal, but that's a personal preference.

A joyous blend of colors and shapes and blurs! I can almost see the ferns growing and stretching towards the light, like those time lapse movies of a seedling growing and twirling upwards. Only you captured all that motion in one glorious image! Thank you for posting your procedure.
