    after trolling california beaches for a while, finally got a decent picture of one.

    d300, 300/2.8+2.0 TC. 1/640 @ f/6.3, ISO 400, fill -2.0

    Nice picture, Like the exposure, whites look great and sharpness is good. Nice background.
    I will tempted to remove the dark OOF stuff at the back of the bird. I will also remove one of the catch-lights and try work the eye for more details.

    Image is nice, agree with Raul and Steve on the recommendations, also It think the image needs a tiny CCW rotation.

    agree with all above, but what I really like besides the stunning bg is that little line of sharp sand pebble across the image.
    The shallow dof works so well there

    Lovely portrait, specially love the creamy bg. I may also remove the dark elements. Bird looks great and good advise given above.

    Nice low perspective and a good pose of one of my favorite shorebirds. Agree with Raul's suggestions and the slight rotation, but a lovely image overall.
