Excellent image Morkel, I like the reflection, the large ears of the little one are striking! Great exposure on the animals with nice details. Nice smooth BG as well. TFS.

Beautiful image Morkel. Really like the composition. Love the eye contact of the smallest one. Classic Etosha BG. If anything IMO it would have been awesome if the female was looking a little more this way.

    Very nice shoot.
I like the perfect light; could be better with more reflection?

    Thanks guys.
I cropped a bit off the bottom as that was dirt (the nearest edge of the pool). I tried standing up to get more reflection but they spooked and I crouched back down. I was obviously on foot.

Morkel, great techs as usual for this image before sunrise. The light is quite beautiful, but a little bit on the cool side. Love that you included a little bit of sky and the water at the bottom. Loi

Hi Morkel - lovely shot of this group. I too wish for more of the reflection but understand about the dirt and also have seen them spook so know the limitations. There seems to be something strange along the back of the female (I would say it was a selection issue but learned my lesson last time ).

    TFS,
    Rachel

I love this image, as said above. I don't doubt your artistic taste, Morkel, in deciding on the best crop, but wonder if including some of the dirt at the base would provide some framing at the base. The reflections are gorgeous and I want to see more of them. Seeing the edge of the water cutting them off might be better than just cutting them by a crop.

    Hi Morkel,

great image indeed. reflection oh well, we cannot have all at once.
Had a laugh about the selection spotted by Rachel
I assume with the Rhino it wasn't. Did not go back yet to the thread of that one, to lazy and busy for that right now

    have a great eve

    Ciao

A lovely and gentle scene well captured, Morkel. I like the variety of species you are posting
If it wasn't for that "error in selection" I was going to say "perfect image, no need for PP work". I saw it too Morkel, but then said to myself "Nah, Morkel never slips up". Then I read the threads...Eish, I do it too sometimes! Luckily I have Andre sitting next to me, he usually points it out
This is beautiful, Morkel- love the 3D effect you have created here!
Now let me go look for some kudu in my own files

    Have a great evening,

    Thanks folks.

Good point, Diane. I went back and looked, and I actually framed very tight at the bottom wrt the dirt-edge so there's not getting it in while having to rotate the image slightly like I did...
Gabriela - I am often processing in haste, it's a wonder I don't slip up more than I do!

Hi Morkel, nice clean image, just loose those clumps of dirt bottom RHC, the image would look OH so better and no one would know.

    Lovely crisp image Morkel.
Kudu are one of my favourite antelope and you've captured them beautifully.

I notice that these kudu seem much more brown than the ones in SA where they seem to be more of a grey/brown.

Clumps of dirt don't bother me at all but - and I know I'm in a minority here - I'm not 100% about the reflection.
It is a wonderful clean reflection but it is only partial and - for me at least - because the water is so mirror like I find it draws my eye away from the antelope.

Don't take this the wrong way - but it is good to see that you occasionally slip up with selection
