    Default Giraffe foreplay

    Attached Images Attached Images

A rather unexpected encounter whilst tracking lions, these two popped our from within the bushes, and continued their courtship out in the open, sadly this was only for a few minutes before heading back into a more 'secluded' part. Judging on his behaviour it seemed he was suffering from a headache! Even stranger, junior shortly followed them Would have liked more room on the RHS and less to the left, shot late in the afternoon.

Those more knowledgeable, can you ID the species of Giraffe or is there just one, I'm hopeless on these guys.

Ha ha what a way to display affection! Unique behaviour image Steve! I like it & echo your thoughts on more room to the right. Nice light & colours.

    Hi Steve,

very nice image of those two. Glad that you have been on schedule, that gave them their privacy back

Now, what is it with the blue color cast I have spotted ?
Do we reduce those or leave them in? There is no snow involved, better clean the ears of the chap! LHS. Guess that has been forgotten in the morning at the river

Have a great day and weekend

    Ciao

If I don't leave something in for you what would be left for you to critique? Both Cyan & % of Blue needs to be removed.

Nice behavioural shot. I also like the background/setting as it adds to the image. Blue cast covered. I like the pale female and dark mature male.

They will be Southern Giraffes (Giraffa cameleopardalis giraffa) a race of giraffes found south of Zambezi. There's only one species of giraffe, but around 9 subspecies as far as I know. We have Thornicroft's giraffe here (G. c. thornicrofti) in the Luangwa Valley which are found nowhere else in Africa.

dropped a line, called SOS.. SOS Arc fine, me too, but not my SOS, pushed aside till I get note.
Latte was great with a Gipfel. Family has another 4 days donuts and coffee Americano , me peace

Btw, that RHS Giraffe could use a tad darkening with some brush magic just on the bright side! IMHO... ooooommm

    Enjoy your weekend

    Ciao

Hi Steve - I really like the almost sly look she is giving you. Nice behavior, well captured. I, of course, agree with your self critique and with Anette's observation about the blue cast to the ears. Techs look spot on.

    TFS,
    Rachel

Steve, they do look like two species, don't they? Great behavior capture and your techs are good as usual. I had to look very hard to see a faint blue/cyan cast on the tree. Loi

Nice clarity here Steve. I agree that it needs to be evenly spaced out - perhaps take some OFF the LHS?
Was also going to say "Southern Giraffe" or "South African Giraffe" but Edward beat me to it...

    Hello Steve

Sorry to comment so late, been away for a couple of days Steve, I think the one giraffe is giving you a beady eye! Lovely behavioural shot and I like the IQ here as well as the colours-well processed as always, Steve!

    Warmest regards,
    Gabriela Plesea
