    Default Black Throated Loon

In Israel we dont normally get Loons, as their migration route is roughly 2000KM north of Israel.
Actually the last recored visit was in 2008. So one can imagine the excitement this Juv. Black Throated Loon with a busted GPS caused.

Im just happy I was able to get a few decent images.

Hi Danny - Super image with excellent detail captured. I really like the soft colors and awesome BG. The details in the neck feathers looks very cool. The droplet does not hurt at all..

Very nice -- I like the DOF.

The activity near solar maximum has caused some occasional problems with GPS -- your luck! Hope it found it's way back home.

How exciting. I felt the same way the first time I saw a loon in Florida! Love the spotlight on the loon's head and that droplet! Seeing a slight halo around the beak.

Awesome head turn, the water drop is fantastic, and I love the water rippling against the loon's body. Low angle and crop work well. Excellent image of this rarity for you!

Don't you love the feeling of getting a great image of a real rarity? Love the head angle and the water droplet. I think I'm seeing a slight magenta cast, either that or you've got some pink light on the bird.
