    Just an American Pipit that was kind enough to perch nicely for me along some boulders near the water (the background is the Ottawa River). Audio used to get it on a better rock and light angle.

    Canon 7D + 500mm f/4 II + 1.4 TC, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/1000s., f/7.1, ISO 800, natural light, handheld, FF, lightened iris (dodge tool), darkened pupil and rock (burn tools), a piece of debris cloned out from foot.

    Hi Daniel, you really do get the best from the 7D, exquisite detail and love the soft warm tones in the plumage. Having the blue off-sets and separates the bird nicely. Just wished you could have seen all the feet on this one.

    Audio used to get it on a better rock and light angle.
    And I thought you mastered talking them down.

    This is a very minor wish- that we could see the whole foot.
