Looking none-too-happy, this Semipalmated Plover stood head-to-head against me in a battle for feeding territory Actually, this pose lasted only a few seconds in between steps as it foraged while virtually ignoring me...

Canon 7D + 500mm f/4 II + 1.4TC, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/320s., f/5.6, ISO 800, natural light, handheld, cropped from horizontal plus canvas added above, darkened pupils (burn tool), lightened some light shadows under the chin (dodge tool).
