    Default 78 day old loon

    I went to the lake yesterday and found only the chick. I would guess the parents have left for the winter. It was the only chick to be born this year and seemed to be happy for company.

    D7100 with 80-400 at 400mm f/5.6 1/320. ISO 1000 as it was quite cloudy.

    Love the color palate and you have wonderful details and angle here, Alan. I wouldn't mind seeing a little more on top and less on the bottom if possible.

    Awesome! I love it. Great head angle, BG and colours, and I am liking the comp as is too. I'm really digging the hint of rust-brown feathers on the back. I suspect the image may need a tad CW rotation though. Very nicely done.

    beautiful colours and lots of detail on the Loon. Love those small ripples coming off the loons breast
