These 2 elk were part of a small bachelor herd that roamed the YMCA of the Rockies property just outside Rocky Mountain National Park. They were mostly eating but the one on the left decided he wanted to have some fun. Unfortunately it wasn't possible to move further left for lack of cover and getting too close. I took this on foot from behind a tree with the path/road separating us.

    C&C welcome and appreciated. Thanks,

    Hi Rachel,

very nice image of those too. To bad that you couldn't go further to the left. We cann not have everything. In the fur of both I might would turn down the Highlights a bit, the bright fur. Darken the rest of the path a bit more and BG. Just my thoughts.

    Have a great day

    Ciao

Rachel, this is a lovely shot, I like seeing the eyes on both of them, the interaction is captivating, nice behaviour to see. Comp works very well according to me, enough space all around.

Hi Rachel, very nice image. My initial thought is the same as Anette's regarding the highlights on the left elk. Also it seems the trees are slanted and so, the image may need a little CW rotation. Very thoughtful of you not to take a step to the left. Great capture. Loi

Nice behaviour and setting here, Rachel. You did well to get this close on foot. I might shave a little off the bottom?

    Thanks again,
