These guys are quite common up in Far North Queensland, but are surprisingly hard to get a good image of - I spent quite a while concentrating on them and this is probably my best effort so far. Thanks for looking, Greg.

Beautiful light on a beautiful bird. Well captured. Love the blue on the throat. I'm a sucker for profile shots, but some might feel a slight head turn would improve it.
Hi Greg, looks like the wait was worth while, and you have come away with a sure keeper. I like the line of pose following the line of the perch, and nicely tucked in between the leaves. With such a dominant colour to the throat and chest, I would have presumed this species would have been called something else. Having said that, I do like the striking colours on him, and what a killer BG.
Impressive exposure on the bird, the flash did help a great deal in exposing the the blue nicely
i love the composition and the great details, leaves add a great character to the image with that sweet looking BG
I appreciate the work on getting this bird steady, its very hard to get sunbirds steady anytime they are like hyperactive
Hi Greg - I like the perch, pose and composition. The colors, specifically the blue chest, is beautiful. I am with Stu on the "misleading" name! I love the even BG which showcases the subject perfectly.
Cheers
Hennie
Only a better HA could have improved on this wonderful image. Comp, colours, techs all look A-1 to me. I really love the depth on the leaves in upper right corner.
