Default Bison of the Old West

Another zoo photo; the light was less than desirable in this photo because by the time I reached the bison it was early afternoon and sunny, thus it had rather harsh shadows. I used HDR Efex to get more detail out of the shadows and replaced the BG with a Shadowhouse texture. I then converted to B&W using Silver Efex, added three more textures, and then used Silver Efex again to add sepia toning.

    Christopher,
This image resulted in me reading your Old Photo Tutorial and then coping it to our "Tutorials and Educational Resources" forum.
Congratulations on the image and on having your tutorial immortalized (a little dramatic, but it is a big deal).

Vintage Christopher! Congratulations on being recognized by James. The zoo should hire you to do some publicity photos for them

You did do a good job of taming the shadows Christopher. Your moniker MG is very appropriate. It looks like it would come out of my grandmother's drawer od old photos'.

Christopher, I like the simultaneous flicking of the tongue and tail. Your texture work is superb as usual. Well done.

I think this is one of your best! Perfectly processed and I love the textures and toning.

Agree to all the above. Knew as soon as I saw it that it was yours. Love the tongue!

This is truly an impressive image, Christopher. The sepia tones and textures you added here make it look as though this image were from another era.
