    Default Topi

Gregor's Topi image inspired me to work on this image. Taken mid morning when the sun is already high, but not yet so intense. I wanted to include the tree on the right, so kept the Topi a little low in the frame. The image is FF.

Minimal PP to brighten up the eyes and kept the highlights on the rear end under control.

    Thank you for your comments.

Hi Loi - this looks good. I like the look back pose though I'm sure Steve will have something to say about the prominence of the rump. You've got nice detail and controlled the blacks well. It's not easy to be able to distinguish these guys eyes and you can so well done. Just watch the halos, there's a slight one along the back and down the legs.

    Hi Loi

I like this one. Very good balance/comp in the picture. I see that you handled the pp much better than me. Well done. These topis are nice. I like there color scheme.

Beautiful shot - one of your best. Like the pose and the two trees creating a natural vignette. What's the white thing in the bottom right corner? Might remove if you allow yourself to do that. Perhaps darken the tips of the horns as they are lost slightly in the colour change of the background.

Agree with the above here Loi, however a question for Ed.

Personally I feel there is a lot of red within the image. If you remove it from within the withes of the sky & within the grass would it look 'right/better', WDYT?

Nice pose and exposure on this guy, Loi. Light well controlled. I agree with Steve on the red channel overall.
I hear you on the tree, but might shave some off the top in any case...personal preference...

Hi Everyone, thank you for your comments. Agreed that the Red coming thru the grass. I will take a look at reducing it via Saturation. Loi

Loi, I'm can't remember, but I'm not sure if Saturation is the right route, you might like to try Selective Colour? Remember you need to apply a mask to 'selectively' apply the adjustment, but you have mastered that now.

    Good luck.

Agreed - I didn't see that the first time. It's a bit pinky in the sky which a little management of the reds will solve.

Now that Steve and many of you pointed it out, the Red is SOOO obvious. I played around with a few things, but at the end found Color Balance is the one that works. Thanks for your time and feedback. Much appreciated. Loi
