Default All Wet Great Horned Owlet.

This image has a few potential captions such as "Peace, Man" or "Live Long and Prosper" or "High Four!"...perhaps even "Future Major League Baseball Catcher"...but this was just a mid-scratch pause of the talon that had this miserably wet fella adopt this quirky pose

Canon 7D + 500mm f/4 II, manual exposure, evaluative metering, 1/160s., f/5.6, ISO 800, natural light, handheld, FF, darkened the pupils and darkened the leaf at lower left corner (burn tool), cloned out a peeking leaf at top edge, removed bluish cast to the blacks via Hue/Saturation.

Love the contrast and detail! Pose and caption are wonderful! I think the vernacular today, at least down here in the Lower 48, would be "Peace, Bro!" You may have a little more culture up there....

    Dan:

Def. a greeting card kind of image, lots of fun. Like the colors, comp works well with the branches, he does look miserable.

I have not seen the bottom of their feet before, but on my monitor it almost looks a bit overprocessed/sharpened, as it is starting to look cut out. May very well be the contrast with the wet, soft feathers.

    Made me smile!

Very nice image! Made me smile.
I favor the "Live long and Prosper" title!
I really like the eye level view and the wet feathers,

Well captured Dan. I love the composition and as you said there are any number of captions too. We were fortunate to have these owlets around this year,

You have good sense of humour Daniel. Enjoy the feet and eyes - really great capture. He certainly does look really wet. The owl really pops with your natural green background. It is detailed and the exposure is spot on. Super shot

Love the eye contact and the soaked feathers, but that talon makes the shot!
