Default Out of the Box, Rhino Friday Post

    Hey Guys

So for Rhino Friday I thought I would try create something quite unique and after searching the web for inspiration, this image (http://webdesignledger.com/wp-conten...ulation_12.jpg) inspired me to create the image below.

This has been manipulated in Photoshop and is a combination of 3 images,
2 of my own and a third from a free wallpaper website.

The concept behind the image is to raise awareness for the plight of the African Rhino (a perhaps old concept and idea) but one I feel is stll relevent.
The concept is that we hold the future of the Rhino in our hands and it is only through our actions that we will be able to save the african rhino.

Thought I would share it with the community and get feedback on what you think. I can go into details of what exactly I did to create the image if you would like me too.

Great idea and well executed! I think people may be finding the rhino a little difficult to make out. Maybe make him bigger??

The darkness of the shadows adds drama but it a bit of a stumbling block for me -- but that's just a preference on my part.

Hi, Timothy, welcome to OOTB!! I think this is a very thought-provoking image and it's obvious you created it with love and concern. I agree with Diane that the rhino could be a little larger. I like the idea that he's coming over a hill from the darkness into the light (and hopefully salvation from extinction). I think you could open up the shadows in the trees to the left of the rhino - it's hard to make out what those are - they are more distinct in their shadows. You might even want to do a Gaussian blur on the grasses? I hope we see more of your work here

This is a great concept, Timothy, and it tells a very important story. I so appreciate the message you're conveying regarding the plight of the rhino. I agree that if the rhino were a little larger it would have more impact, and I also find the shadows a bit distracting. Thanks for sharing here!

First - are those your hands?
Second, great source of inspiration and concept.

I like the concept and the way you created your version.
IMO the image is a little too contrasty for my taste.

I think it is a great concept, and with a different edit, could be improved even more.

I listened to your concerns and have tweaked it a little but I would like to know, what would you change?

    How would you edit it?

Much better! I might wish the shadow under the grass was just a little lighter, and the cutout on the grass and tree could be more advanced -- have a look at Topaz ReMask.

I like it better than the OP. Diane makes some good suggestions about the tree. I find remask almost a study in itself. I really do like the concept.
