    Default Californina Thrasher

Greetings. This species is very shy, usually on the ground, and quick to retreat under a bush. On occasion you will see one perched just so but this is the first I've seen (let alone captured) perched up with the feet visible. And he stayed put for me to walk a few steps to clear the bg!

Love the perch, its color, and its proportion in the frame. The bird's alert pose is nice. I like the variegated background, but would selectively tone down the brighter area just in front of the bird.
Fine details on the bird are a tad lacking imho and there's a bit of noise on the tail. But that could be just me.
    TFS.

I like the erect pose, wonderful perch and surrounding greens. I agree that bright spot in the BG is distracting...a low opacity soft brush clone should work well in toning it down.

    Tim, Sidharth, Daniel,

Thanks much for your comments. They are greatly appreciated. I agree that some bg toning is in order.

    Cheers,
