    Default Gyrfalcon

    Hello.

This is my first post here so I guess I have to introduce myself :) My name is Agust and I live in the Westfjords of Iceland, where most of my photos are taken. The summer brings alot of birds here but the winters, that sometimes get very hard, are a different story. Althougt we have our two beautiful raptors all of the year, the white tailed eagle and the gyrfalcon, that quite often can be seen near the coast in the winter time.

I met this gyrfalcon yesterday while he was just finishing eating a puffin near the shore.

    Hello Augúst,

Welcome! I'm also new around here.

Great BIF photo! I agree with that's been said and also like a lot the light that together with the pose and eye makes it feel alive :)

Hi there Agust, welcome to BPN!! Very nice first post, and a great subject to boot! Quite the blood stain on the belly. The subject is quite sharp and motion well frozen. The BG is OK for the most part, just a few darker areas that are distracting to me, especially ion front of the bird. I've seen ots of beautiful bird photos coming from Iceland...looking forward to more :-)
