    Bill Sir,
Spectacular image with very nice composition. Love the pose with prey in the beak, nice details, interesting perch and striking blues in the BG.

    Regards,
    Satish.

Nice light on the Sparrow and the perch. The food item puts it a few notches up. Great work, Bill.

Lovely Bill. I am totally "in" to ratty-looking plumages that show how these birds really live! I would crop nearly half of the upper sky out.

Very nice Bill, the prey adds a lot. I'd like to see this a little tighter--maybe losing a hunk of the perch. Something like this perhaps. Name: Bill's Sparrow.jpg

Looks like raising a family took its toll on the plumage! That, combined with the bug in the bill tells that story so I am fine with it. I like Dan's idea of cropping some off the top. Not in love with the bottom part of the perch but the image is well balanced with it there (after cropping some off the top).

    Bill,

Greetings. Maybe it's just me but the piece of branch on the left looks like a juvenile looking up saying, "Feed me". I like the green against the sky and the redish head. Thanks for posting.

    Cheers,

    -Michael-

Thanks everyone for your comments. Lyle and Dan, you've given me some good ideas about cropping, and I'll go back and take another look. I like Dan's repost.

Yes, this guy looks like he's been through the mill. Tough life being a sparrow.

Very nice shot indeed, I really like the sparrow and prey, I find the image just a little contrasting - maybe consider brightening the background a little bit?
