Default Great Ringed Plover (Charadrius hiaticula) II

Another picture of the Great Ringed Plover with fewer obstacles in the foreground.

    I hope you like it.

    Frank:

    Sharp, great catchlight,good shooting angle.

Nice blues in the bg, but the darker areas are a bit distracting, esp. the one right in front of the bill. I might try to soften them just slightly.

    Cheers

    Thanks Randy,

the dark areas are waves and I think they should as remain as they are, nature!

    Frank:

I appreciate that they are waves, and wouldn't eliminate them, just soften a bit. Your image, your call of course.

    Cheers

Cute bird and I like the rocky FG and hint of waves in the BG. Nice catchlight in the eye as well.

    Nice low POV and light.
I have to agree with Randy on this image. Simple to dodge the black area of the wave without eliminating it.

I like this one better for the cleaner FG (there is still one rock that I wish was not there, but hey, we can't always have it all!). Another option for the darker waves would be to clone in some paler blue with a low opacity clone (10-15%)...that would help tame the darkness without eliminating them. Very nice details!

    Thank you all.

Here my attempt to edit the background, I'm not sure whether it succeeded.
