    This Kori Bustard was taken in the Ngorongoro Crater in Tanzanea. The species may be one of the heaviest living animals capable of flight.

    Nikon D800, f/9, 1/800 sec, ISO 800, 550mm (80-400mm zoom with 1.4x), handheld

    It looks like a pretty good size bird. Nice muted light and soft tones for the bg. I think the image needs a slight cw rotation and a little dodge on the eye area could help it pop some more. Nice detail on the neck plumage

    I've tried to straighten the bird and did more work on lightening the eye. I had actually lightened the eye from the original image in my first post but I was afraid to go too far and have it look unnatural. I do think this second attempt does improve it further. Thanks for the suggestions.

    Cool bird, neat walking stride you got here too. The repost is indeed better, but both versions need the bird further back in the frame (or more room in front...if you have it you can add it back).

    Beautiful image. Nice color scheme. I like the walking pose with crest,feather pattern on neck and grass.
