Caught this Pelican last year just before it slammed into the water for a meal. The next frame is an explosion of water.

I like the feeling of the upcoming impact.
    Tack sharp and great light.
    I love the curled feet.
I might reduce the contrast a bit,
    Gail

    David,

Greetings. Very cool action shot. I particularly like the water drops shed off the feet. I wonder about your processing step. Detail seems a tad too crispy and color also a tad too saturated for my taste.

    Cheers,

    -Michael-

Thanks for the comments Gail and Michael.

Michael, I didnt think the shot looked crunchy at all ? I can reduce the saturation a bit but the late evening light dose give everything a bit more color in real life.

    Thanks again

Ah, maybe I'm just used to our rather drab browns... Not to worry, David.

Beautiful, and so well captured David! Love the detail and colours. I had the privilege to see pelicans fishing early this year, for the first time; did not manage to capture them diving for fish-so interesting to see how they surface at times with a catch that seems to large to fit in their pouch...Brilliant image well processed, TFS!

    Kind regards,

Hi David, now this is a pose Ive havent seen captured too often, a pelican diving into the water - great timing. A pretty streamlined pose for a pelican. Tack sharp with lots of detail, and the brown of the pelican, and blues of the water go well together. Well captured.

    David,
Excellent image with great IQ. Wonderful colors, tack sharp bird and beautifully pops up against blues.

    Regards,
    Satish.
