Default Scissor tailed Flycatcher Eyeing a catch

Dallas gets very boring for birding just before Fall. This year there is still no fall in sight yet.

This was taken at a local spot. The STFs are still here. last light of the day using my new 5DIII. I just love it that I dont have to deal with too much noise with the new camera. Save me time in PP.....

5DIII+500 F4+1.4II, ISO 640, 5.6, 1/3000 , Handheld, Cropped for comp. The resolution is still good enough to also try a vert Comp. What do you all think about it?

Comments and Critiques are always requested , welcome and appreciated.

Lovely image Amol. Nice BG and great sharpness on the insect and bird. IMO it would be great to give more space to the left of the bird and below. Just feels a little cramped in the corner (but just my opinion). Nice shot and thanks for sharing.

Killer image with great action, colors, BG and details. Wish to see the bird moved to the right of the frame if you have more canvas on the left.

Great action shot, nice colors and background. The composition is out of balance.
I would use a 7x5" crop and would put the bee to the very top of the cut. It should work.

    Lovely light and BG.
I really like the fact that the bee is in focus and the way the bird is looking at it.
I would agree with all the other posters re: composition. A vertical would look nice as well,

    Hi Amol,

I think you have quite a winner here, I really like the pose and the potential catch is a great bonus. In my humble opinion the whites here and there (on the bird as well as leaves underneath) are a tad "too much" but you can fix that. I think the vertical crop you are thinking of would certainly work, do give it a try! On the other hand, you could add a bit of canvas on the LHS.

Well captured, looking forward to more images from you!

    Kind regards,
    Gabriela Plesea

excellent action here. would prefer the horizontal version with some space behind & below the bird.
Excellent DOF & BG. you have scope for getting some more details out of the whites.

Talk about timing! Man, this is awesome. Love the light, the bg, the pose and the overall image quality.
I would definitely look at other comp options. TFS.
