    Handsome bird, very interesting perch material,soft light, well exposed and sharp.

    Even though I like the perch material, I might try to crop a bit more of it away to emphasize the bird. I would consider a bit form the bottom and the right to keep the proportions balanced.

    The bird looks great, good light and details.

    The repost looks better. For me the problem with the perch is that it has almost the same color as the bird, thus it gets a little bit confusing

    I prefer the placement of the subject in the OP, but I see where Randy is going about the perch. Super nice BG, and the jay looks very nice. The bit of red above the head is neat too.
