    Here's another from Cuba in April, taken on Cayo Romano along the north coast. Several hours after sunrise, the tropical sun was already getting strong, and was to the side. Still, I thought he was a neat looking bird (and I like his name).

    D7000, 80-400VR @ 400mm, ISO 800, 1/640s @ f/7.1 manual.

    I don's see the harshness of the light here, Bill. What I see is a beautiful bird posing nicely for you. Good composition, although the bird could have gone a bit higher IMO.

    Bill that is a beautiful shot. The sharpness and the colours are super.
    Although the perch is quite busy it works well as the lines follow the lines of the cuckoo.

    Boy, this is a tough crop...the placement of the bird within the frame is good...I just kinda wish there wass some stuff in lower left corner too. Very neat bird, love the red eye ring. The branches and small leaves work well, and I like the pale blue sky.
