I've been looking at this image many times and would like to get your feedback whether it would work. When shown to my wife, she cried "but you clipped his ears!"

    Loi,
I think this is a nicely detailed photo, especially the tusks. The thing that stands out for me (besides the tusks) is the hour glass shape of the skull and I think a tighter crop would work better (for me at least). Rotated a touch, this evens out the cut off ears and removes the bright sky up top.

    Hi loi,

had to laugh about your wife's comment.
    Is this FF vertical ?
The details are great, very well done. I had it in PS for crop, but good not come up yet with a better one!

    Have a great day

    Ciao

Nice detail and like those tusks a lot. I like Steve's crop, gives more emphasis on those awesome tusks.

Hi Loi, nice work and Steve C hit the crop spot on, as soon as I saw it, the tighter crop just brings it more 'in your face'. All I would then do is add a Curves adjustment and some more sharpening. In doing so it just pulls it all together and emphasises the detail you captured in the original.

Steve Canuel's crop came to my mind the moment I saw your OP.
I agree about bringing more depth and detail out of the resulting image as per Steve K.

Hi Loi - I agree with the above. Steve C's crop is great and Steve K's suggestions will take it up a notch. Maybe your wife should sign up and start commenting too!

Hi Everyone, thank you for your feedback. I'm on the road again, so will revisit this image this weekend.

Steve C, thank you for taking the time to do the crop. It looks great.

Steve K. I did a Curves adjustment, but very lightly. Will retry and sharpen more.

Rachel, yes, I will ask my wife if she would join, but she only takes photos with her ipad or iphone :)
