We usually find them this time of the year up in Algonquin, moving through, heading to warmer climate.
This guy was picking up small creatures from the water. It was shot two hours before sunset.
    Thanks for looking.

    Karl,

Greetings. The warm color against the cool blue is very engaging. A few reflection spots (lower beak, rump, small log on left) could be cloned if you are of a mind. I particularly like the smooth bg. Thanks for posting.

    Cheers,

    -Michael-

Sweet light and excellent IQ. Great low angle and the comp works perfectly for the pose. Food is a nice bonus. Very nicely done Karl.

Sweet. It looks like the sun in Algonquin is pretty friendly at 2 hours before sunset. Terrific POV, alert pose. Great water bug. Good one, Karl.

Love this species...and I got to photograph some a couple of weeks ago too. Great light, and I like the smooth water BG. The bug in the bill is very cool, and the HA perfect. I'm OK with most of the debris on the water, but not super crazy about the large stick at left.

Excellent pose against a nice clean bg... bit of red of the bug helps make a great viewer focal point. Well done!
