This is a Grey Lourie, with the nick name of ' go away' bird, as its call sounds just like that - 'go-awaaay'. This was taken in the Pilanesberg National Park, way back in June, and taken early morning. I quite liked the show of the far wing during his stretch. His left leg ( right as we look at the image ) was tucked behind him, thus only one leg being visible. The BG is a distant mountain.

Great, Stu. Lovely and sharp with typical Pilanesberg perch and BG. I find these birds very wary where I encounter them. Great detail in that plumage. I might try cropping a bit from the top as it is a fairly tight crop on the other 3 sides.
What a unique looking bird. Never seen one so thanks for sharing. Nice looking pose, HA, BG and perch. The exposure and details look perfect. Well done Stuart
Lovely shot of a bird that is heard far more often than seen.
Exposure looks spot on and the detail is terrific. The pose is unusual and the composition suits it.
I really like the color palette in this image and love the lines created by the perch.
IQ and techs are excellent and I like the unusual pose. Well done Stuart,
Gail
Top class Stu - great pose details and exposure.
(Had a few temporary problems - installed new monitor PC went hay wire but getting there - will try to catch up again!)
This is a beauty, Stu. Your usual high IQ, excellent pose and a great perch. Love the light and the clean bg. Touch more space below would work for me, but no biggie.
Stuart Sir,
Marvelous image. Love the pose with stretched wing, absolutely tack sharp, interesting perch and beautiful BG colors nicely complimenting with bird's colors.
Very nice composition too.
