Interesting behavior and good details. I find the light a bit harsh and wish the birds would have faced you. I'm not sure about the crop as quite a few birds are clipped.
Perhaps this image would work as panorama, but the composition as presented does not work for me. I also wish the bird would be facing you. With that said, I think you did an excellent job keeping most of the birds in focus.
