I had posted the image of this bird in a different pose, this one is full frame image where I managed not to cut the tail or legs. The bird was busy looking for prey.

    Sanjeev,

Very nice to see this species, it's one that I'm not familiar with. Glad you were able to get the whole bird without cropping any essential parts. When you get this close to one, I might suggest trying for a portrait, especially with a face like that!

Nice image of the full bird this time. He/she looks very serious. Love the fine details, Sanjeev.

Hi Sanjeev, I like the attentive stare, looking for his next snake meal. You have captured him in typical enviroment, and well timed to get the raised leg. At least you didnt cut off the tail, but still a touch tight there.

Well caught and beautifully sharp, Sanjeev. I agree it needs a bit more room especially for the virtual foot that it is standing on. Great illustration of the name with the Quill pens tucked behind it's ears!

I first recall seeing this species of bird pictured in 'Children's Britannica'....that was about 51 years ago. I was fascinated by the bird then as I am now. Excellent image. A little space behind would have been nice, and there is not much you can do about the grass in between you and the bird but it is after all in habitat so...well done.
