Hi Andre - Welcome back! Love the soft bg and comp here with excellent detail and the catchlight is a nice plus. If it were mine I would apply a luminosity mask at about 20% to the highlights. It also feels just a tad oversharpened to me. I'm curious as to why you added the peanut. To me it looks like it was added and unnatural due to the dirt falling from the paws (rather than peanut shell) and the closed mouth. Overall, a very nice image. Looking forward to more from your trip.
TFS,
Rachel

Thank you Rachel! Did maybe over-sharpen a bit when saving for web. Will do RP. The peanut wasn't added afterwards, it was used to attract them, was in original, used shelled peanuts to make it look as natural as possible. Should I remove it?
Thank you for suggestions!
Hi Andre, a warm welcome back to, nice opening image to start you collection with.
I love the simplicity of the image and a killer BKG which really shows off the subject well, separates it nicely, no distraction or anything to compete with the main attraction, well done. I agree it does look over sharp and I think you could work on that eye to. Love the falling debris from the nut, just a shame the mouth is closed and he/she isn't actually holding the shell, is it sharp? Do you think you could loose a little off the top? These are great characters and good to crank up you skills on.
To get the shot, if it means you have to get low & dirty do it, it pays off and clothes can be washed, it's all organic stuff we roll in, it won't harm you, LOL.Beanbag+ lying on stomach..

Post Production: It’s ALL about what you do with the tools and not, which brand of tool you use.
Hi Andre,
you got already suggestions above. Love this little chap and for sure the BG![]()
But not so much the peanut shell! That is not so much natural for me. I understand with attracting them
Next time, rub a bit peanut butter on a little stick or so, just a tad... works as well and looks natural
Enjoy your weekend
Ciao
Anette

Thank you Steve and Anette for comments and suggestions. This is an older image from Feb, will start today with new images, nothing to spectacular.
Did 16x9 crop, added luminous layer, concentrating on eye. Selective web sharpening only on face and left "arm".
Anette-will definitely try the tasty stick idea!!!
Nice - prefer the RP but still looks quite sharp. Agree that it's a shame he's balancing the nut rather than holding it but you can't have everything. I would try to address the slight blue tinge on the whites of the belly. Or perhaps that's my monitor....
