Hi Ben. The light is lovely. there is some good detail but I feel that the egrets bill blends in too well with the background. However it is an appealing image. TFS

Just needs that little bit of separation. Sweet otherwise.

I like the mood and light here, but I think it would be worth looking at the RAW processing again to lighten the Shadows (assuming it was RAW). With some possible tweaking of the Blacks slider, that might give some tonal separation between the bill and the BG. The bird could probably profit from a bit of contrast, too.

It needs some CW rotation, but first I'd add canvas to the bottom and do a content-aware fill (or clone) so the rotation doesn't cut into the reflection.

I am liking on the white on black and the light. However, I am finding the bird a bit dark.

Thanks for the comments and suggestions, all are appreciated. Re post with CW rotation, 1/3 stop increase in exposure. IMO, RP does look better, just a little more noise in the back ground.

Hi Ben, you have really done well with the repost. I too like the light, and how the egret pops against the darker BG.

Hi Ben - a bit late to your post. I really like the repost. I like the mood and details visible in the fine feathers on the back. Nice comp and reflection as well; in a perfect world the reflection would be more clear, but still adds nicely to the image.
    Regards
    Hennie
