    A young Great Horned Owl just a few days out of the nest captured against a dramatic desert sunrise.

    This image just blows me away, Rick. That sky showcases this fledgling so well, and his look is so riveting. If this is full frame, I would take a big chunk off of the right and go sqare.

    Striking image, Rick. I agree with Marina, taking off from the right should work.

    Awesome colours, and the perch is gnarly cool! A bit of a flashed look but the effect is kinda neat here. I like Marina's idea of a square crop.

    sunrise colors are lovely, talons showing on both sides of the body is a great touch. the oof stick on the right side could go, but this is one beautiful image, Rick.

    Oh wow, this looks like it came straight out of a studio (in a good way). The background sunrise gives it a surreal feel. Nice touch with the flash.

    excellent light, eye contact and details. the oof branch on the right is a bit distracting. I would clone it out. this would work nicely in a very too

    Very nice! Love all of it except the branch on the rt. I like the suggestions on cropping from the rt to remove the branch. Awesome colors and detail.

    Very striking image.
    The owl looks great and the background is amazing.
    I don't like square crops but I think this may be an exception to my rule as there is a bit too much space on the right hand side.
