    Default Pied Stilt

    Attached Images Attached Images

Managed to catch an hour of nice light up at a local lake this week. This stilt was one of the co-operative birds along the shoreline.

Processed in LR5 and PS6 using Nik Color Efex negative tonal contrast to smooth the BG a little and positive tonal contrast to enhance plumage textures.
Thanks for looking - comments and advice always appreciated

This is very nice, Tony. The composition, background, eye contact and pose are all excellent. The reflection of the foot and the water dripping from it add further interest. And the feather detail is very good throughout the tonal range.

Lovely portrait of this stilt. The pose, setting, and your exposure control are all wonderful. I might add a bit more to the bottom for the virtual legs since they're so long.

Hi Tony, great to see you posting again. The low shooting angle works well, and you have certainly nailed the exposure - both the whites and the green sheen on the wing show up nicely. I do like the pose with the slightly raised leg, and with some trailing water. Well captured.

Striking image of a striking bird. Nice walking posture, colours, comp. Great eye. There seems to be some hot spots in the chest, but all else looks A-1!

Super to see you posting again, Tony!!! What a great looking stilt in super light. Like the raised foot and trailing water.
