Juvenile Snowy Egret from Jamaica Bay WR last year. I didn't post this at the time, maybe because the wings aren't fully spread. But I decided I liked it anyway. Comments?

Very nice image Bill,I like the water splash. Wish for a little more room below and less above. The whites look good. The dark BG works well.

    Bill:

Agree with Sanjeev's comments on crop, exposure, bg.

Yes, spread wings would have been more dramatic, but the flying water helps add interest.

    Cheers

    Bill,

I'll third the comments above having a bit more room below (that's where he's looking after all) and a bit less on top.

I think a more dynamic wing position would have put it over the top, but you did really well capturing this moment. Whites are spot on, and it's great that you can see the entire eye in the midst of all the splashes.

Bill, I love the water splashes and the egret shows off beautifully against the background. the exposure is terrific.
I can see why you've given so much space on top.
It might almost be better of there were no reflection than the partial you have there. The wing position is a shame, it makes the egret look kinda awkward.
    Still a neat image

The splashing action is really good, and you did a fine job with the whites. I agree on subject placement and pose though...but I can see why you like it.

Excellent pose, shooting angle & water splashes. Nice BG & exposure.
