    Elf Owl landing at Saguaro Cactus nest - Tucson, Pima County, Arizona, USA - May

    Elf Owls are the world's smallest owls. Standing only 5 3/4 inches (14.6 cm) they are found from the southwestern US and south along the west coast of Mexico.

    EOS 3, 1/200th, f/8, Fuji Sensia 100, 2 flash units, shot from scafolding erected at the nest for the BBC to film "Night Hunters" a special on owls of the world. NR on background.

    Lovely action shot Rick. The flash has lit the owl up very well and separated it nicely from the background.
    Great detail and the meal in its beak is a great extra.
