    Default Harris's Hawk

    Taken at Santa Clara Ranch in McCook Texas earlier this year.

    Camera Model = Canon EOS-1D X
    Lens Model = 600mm f/4 MkII
    Exposure Program = manual control
    ISO Speed Ratings = 1000
    Shutter Speed = 1/2500 second
    Aperture = ƒ/4
    Exposure Bias (EV) = 0
    Metering Mode = pattern / multi-segment
    Flash = Flash did not fire, compulsory flash mode
    Exposure Mode = manual exposure
    White Balance = auto

    I like the light, sharpness and BG. Wing position is a little awkward IMO. I'd like to see the image posted larger; you used 800 pixels, but you can post 1200 pixels wide by 900 pixels tall.

    Bigger is better....wonderful, intense pose. Terrific details. I would use a little detail extractor on the head feathers right above his eye. Is the catchlight natural? For some reason it looks a bit large.

    Hi Grace! It was a late afternoon setting sun. That's real catch light.

    love the dynamic pose Conrad. sharp details. Bigger makes a big difference. I don't make 800 pixel pics anymore...

    I would tone down the whites a bit especially in the beak area it seems a tad hot

    Super light, details and colors on this one, Conrad. I find the pose unique. I like how the hawk's pinkie is raised.
