Watching this Audubon's oriole feed on weathered wood filled with seed. Male cardinal came to share and she does not look happy. He left quickly.

    D800 500 f/4 1.4 TC (Kenko) ISO 500 1/1250 , f/8, aperture priority, -1/3 EV, matrix metering
manual flash, 1/16, PP LR4 with NIK plugins

Hard to get two birds in sharp detail, focus point was on the oriole's eye. Appreciate you looking and commenting.

the strong points of this image are the interaction and vibrant colors. The critical focus was on the lower bird and the upper one looks a bit soft as a result, you could have stopped down more as your ISO was quite low. Overall the light was on the strong side and the image is a tad too contrasty,in particular the red channel is blown on the cardinal.

Nice interaction between the two birds but the colours and sharpness are a bit off.
The cardinal looks way too red and is a bit soft, so there is not fine detail in the plumage. There is also a bit too much warmth in the perch.
    A striking image though

Nice interaction image. Fill flash would have worked well here especially on the NOCA.

What a colorful moment you've captured! I agree with the above critique. You might be able to recover some of the blown reds by going back to the RAW file, but not much can be done about the softness.

Hi Mack - The critiques above are all said. I still like the interaction and vivid colors. TFS

Very nice interaction captured with apt title. Love the beautiful yellows and nice details in both blacks and yellow. Rest is mentioned above.
