Default Flight of the Fish Eagle #2

    Attached Images Attached Images

Another image from the morning shoot with the rehabilitated raptors. The fish eagle had just left the one handlers hand and was on his way to the other handler. For those who missed my previous image, these birds have been nursed back to full health after being injured, and on this morning, we went out away from the suburbs to exercise them. They are coaxed from one handler to the other with a food item.

excellent exposure, dynamic pose and sharp details. I might feather the BG mask more, the edges look a bit jagged, especially in the head area

I'll be honest. I looked at this image and thought it was terrific. Great pose, wonderful detail on both black and white plumage.
Then I read Ari's comment and looked again and I could see the jagged edges on the head.
From a technical point of view I can understand that this is a little thing to tidy up but I would argue that most people would still enjoy this as a super photo.

Wow! Love this one. What a great wing pose.
I didn't notice the jaggies by the head until I read Arash's note but that is easy to fix.
Love the eye level view and the talons of the foot peeking out behind the wing.
    Love this one,
    Gail

Wonderful bird, super capture. Fantastic wing position, and I love the talons showing. I would have missed the jaggies too; no biggie.

Thanks a stack for the kind words and comments everyone. Point taken on being more careful with the refining of some edges.

What an awesome bird, sure hope the rehab is successful.

the only nit picky thing that grabs me is the tiny feather sticking up on the far wing just underneath the birds beak, keeps breaking the subject eye contact for me.
not the whole feather just the small bent upwards tip.

like I sad nit picking. Don't know how you guys manage these shots, I would be too busy crying just being privileged to be near this bird.
