I created this image the other day at the Sackville Waterfowl Park. I liked the situation of the bird on the small island framed with cattails. Stretched foot is blurred but gives a feeling of movement.

    Comments welcome as always.

    John,

You did a good job exposing this as the cattails are not hot - a typical problem in similar images. I am not sure about the busyness of the island. I kind of like it but it places the bird in the center of the image. I will be coming back to this to see additional comments - interested in what others think.

I think maybe I'd like this one more without the stretching action. Do you have one with her standing still? The cattails are a nice natural frame but placing the subject in the center of the frame doesn't work for me in this one. I think I'd try cropping some off the bottom and adding more on the left to put her off center and looking into the frame. I do like the technical aspects, exposure, DOF, colors, head angle all look good to me. The image has a nice peaceful mood too it.
