It seems to me that I'll post Herons for the rest of the season as the other birds are not coming.
I smoothened out the top portion of the background to make it look better.
    Thanks for looking.

Very nice -- sharp on the important parts and the focus falloff emphasizes where I want to see detail. Good job on the BG and the fish is a great bonus.

Another fine image in your Heron series Karl. I like the exposure, details, sharpness, catch and composition.

Great shot Karl, nice and sharp. Its a pity the fishes tail lines up with the perch because it looks a bit like a 'fish on a stick' at first glance...Not sure what you could do about it however..

Hi Karl, I like the HA of the heron showing off his catch, and the fish covered with weed adds interest. Perfect comp. Well captured.

Another healthy diet, well captured. Great detail, head position. I like the comp, and what you did to the BG works for me. Yes, it would have been even nicer if his head were just a bit higher to bring the fish above the stick, but no biggie.

Ooh I like this a lot! Very good vertical comp (Original vertical?). Nice setting, and quite a large catch for the Green Heron. I'm wondering if you were able to move to your left to separate the yellowish oof stuff from the bird's side...

Great close up and environment photo. The fish takes this way up....

Thanks Daniel. I could not as my wife was there with her tripod. Her image turned out better.
