    Default Belted Kingfisher #2

This was taken last week off the dock. Not the best BG but I like the fanned tail on this one. She is just about to shake off some water after a fail fishing attempt. All C&Cs are welcome and appreciated.

Hi Jim, love the raised crest, and this pose shows off the colours on her breast nicely. Well placed in the frame too.

You must have been in seventh heaven when she decided to use your perch.
I much prefer this BG to the last image.
Compwise- I could see a sliver off the RHS.
I like the soft diffuse lighting as well.
The details in the raised crest are excellent.
I still see a purple hue to the head feathers but am starting to think that it must be me or my computer because no one else has mentioned it.
The KF around here are blue with a gray tinge. Perhaps regional variation ?

Nice perch, subtle gradient BG, comp...and of course the subject. What do you think about lightening the whites on the chest and belly?

    Jim,
Great shot of this elusive ridiculously hard to get irritating bird!
Perch and BG are fine with me, I would love to have this.

Thanks everyone for the comments and suggestions.
Gail I don't know if its a regional variation or not but feel free to give it a tweak.
Daniel I will lighten the whites and see what it looks like.
