    Poor light conditions ,and no way for a tripod setup...

    Very cool subject, excellent detail. I like the comp, except that it is too tight on the left for my taste. Looks like you handled the harsh light well, but I recommend burning the bright areas of the wood.

    Fine details in the lizard, I don't think the image is over exposed but if you try dodging the highlights it makes an enormous difference:
    CtrlAltShift2, (this selects the highlights)
    Go to Layers palette:- Select Alt and click Create a new layer (bottom of palette), a dialogue appears select Mode and Overlay. Fill with 50% neutral grey.
    Select Brush B then select D (dark) check Opacity- say about 10% and brush over the highlights. ... magic! Hope this helps.

    Hi Adrian. I agree that the repost is a nice improvement. The lizard gave you good pose and you achieved good sharpness for hh at 1/60. I also like the way that the lizard stands out from the dark band of wood just behind it. I might prefer a bit more room on the left, but this is well done!
