    Default Posing Flamingo

During my stay in Cape Town at the end of May, I had one morning of sunshine. I went down to the Milnerton lagoon, a surburb of Cape Town, and was pleased to find Flamingo's. This particular flamingo decided to show off, and I couldnt resist capturing this pose.

Nice light , great HA and I like the resting pose. Your 100-400 is still a good tool.

So nice to have these cooperative models! Very nice capture! Did you shoot any verticals with the full reflection? It is very nice.

Thanks Diane. I have a couple of verticals with a reflection, not the best reflection, but they stand out well enough. I just havent got around to processing them.

Lorant, thank you for your feedback too.

That's one nice shot Stuart. Your Flamingo shots are some of the best I have seen. The detail and exposure are right on the money and I like the pose with the raised foot as it shows the leg scales of this species well. Very nice.

Hi Stuart - TFS this lovely image. I like the soft colors and the pose with the leg up is great. Good IQ and good details visible. I look forward to a vertical with the full reflection. Super image.
    Regards

I like the HA, pose, raised foot, sharpness and composition. Leg reminds me of steel rebar but pinkish. Excellent image Stuart!

Such wonderful subtle graphics to this image with the striations in the water and on the leg. Full of beauty and interest Stuart.

Stu another super fine image, the detail you capture is quite exceptional. You appear to have caught the bird at the ideal moment too with a very slight head turn.

    Hi Stuart,
I am late to the party again. I like this a lot.
I like the perfect head turn and the ruffled neck feathers.
Really nice soft light that makes the whites appear to have a satin sheen to them,
    Gail

My favorite part of the image is the scaling on the bent leg. Super nice. My instinct would have been for a lower angle but the image works quite well as is.

Thanks Dan. Unfortunately, a lower angle wasnt possible. Having said that, If I could have gone lower, it would have brought in the far bank which is an edge of a golf course.

Thank you everyone else for your comments and feedback.
