Default Bald Eagle Catches Some Sun

This image was taken in Alaska earlier this year. We didn't see a lot of sun, but a cooperative Bald Eagle helped me make the most of one of our brief periods of sunshine. The photo reminds me of the last hummingbird image I posted, which also has a dark BG.

Very engaging image Doug. The sunlit parts of your eagle show stunning detail and are beautifully exposed, contrasting magnificently with the black background. Just being able to see a faint outline of the other wing makes the composition work well.
The eye contact is is icing on the cake.

    me like this one lots

I really like the painterly quality to this, Doug, and of the other recent ones you've been posting. Really great use of shadow and light. So nice to see something unique like this. Perfect exposure of course and super comp. This is a beaut.

I like the different perspective on this one Doug. Techs look solid and I like the detail in the sunlight. The black BG is pretty cool too. Well done.

Very different aspect to this eagle, in my mind compares to images of people with half the face light half dark.

the only thing I see bugging... Can't believe I have the nerve to critique you....

there is a small blue ish harsh spot half way down the dark wing, I think it should stay as its part of the wing anatomy but its a bit glare like and on my screen quite cyan toned, maybe just a small burn down on it.
