Took a look at the series that I've been posting, this really is the last one. It was a fun story to tell with a few photographs. Thanks for all your comments on the previous two.

I would not crop tighter at all.
The best of the three, you are setting the standard for enviro Avian photography for me.
When I start shooting birds again, I am determined to attempt to capture birds in the way you are doing.
For me, this should be what bird photography is about, cropping out the wave on the far right should be
    a crime

This is my favorite of the 3 .... Absolutely love the light on this bird, and all the waves.

the only thing I might do is remove the one droplet of water below his neck.... Not all of them, just the one right under where the body meets the neck.

    great series!!!

Nice up wing position of the juvi, excellent shooting angle and nice stormy looking background, Grace.

Definitely the best of the series. Reminds me of your recent IOTW picture.
I really like the composition as well. The in focus portion of the wave in RLC really finishes the image well.
    Great light and tack sharp.
    No nits from me,

Great environmental shot Grace. The DOF is perfect; excellent sharpness on the bird and just the right amount of BG blur. Like the eye contact too. Would have preferred the wings to be fully up, but otherwise very nice.

How blessed you are to have access to such wave action! This is gorgeous. Love the use of space, the bird is not actually that big in the frame, but it does not feel small either.....must mean it's just right!
