This guy had the fish with salad.
I'm on the same diet; lot of green and occassional fish.
Later on he had a little turtle as well.
This is where I draw the line; no turtles.
    Thanks for looking.

You might be the new king of herons. Another nice image, Karl, like the salad and fish alot. The bird is tight in the frame, but it works well here and I might even consider trimming a bit more off the top to reduce the dark band at the top.

Healthy diet indeed. Very nice light, colors, details, and sharpness. The BG is a little busy, might have been better with f5.6. Loi

Amazing detail on the fish and birds head and eye, well done.

the only part that bothers me about the background is the vertical darker green, log or tree maybe, to the right of the birds head. Tone down maybe.

    love everything else

Awesome image Karl. Love the BG and the heron's red eye.

Another great Heron picture. Excellent detail and great light. I do not mind the busy BG as it gives an idea of the bird's habitat. I wish that the fish was the other way round so that his eye would be visible but there was nothing you could do about it :-)

A healthy diet, well captured. Great light and detail. Like Petros, I only wished for the fish to be looking at us. An excellent shot.
